Rick Fogelman, CEO

Industry Tenure – 28 years
Joined Fogelman Team - 1988

Rick Fogelman is responsible for the establishment and implementation of the overall business strategies of Fogelman Management Group, as well as leading the company's real estate investment initiatives. In Rick's tenure with the company, he has been involved in the underwriting, negotiations and closings of property acquisitions totaling over $650 million and property financings of over $500 million. Rick holds an undergraduate degree in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin and earned his MBA degree from the University of Memphis. Rick serves on the board of directors of the National Multi Housing Council and is past vice president of Tennessee Apartment Association. In addition, Rick is an executive board member of the Memphis Jewish Community Center and is on the board of directors of the Samelson Boys & Girls Club of Memphis.


Mark Fogelman, President

Industry Tenure – 22 years

Mark Fogelman is responsible for the direction, strategy, and growth initiatives of Fogelman Management Group and its 500+ associates nationwide. Under his leadership, Fogelman Management has grown its management portfolio from 10,000 apartment homes to more than 20,000 apartment homes, with an asset value of more than $1.5 billion. In addition, the company has expanded its geographical footprint and now operates in 24 markets within 14 states. Mark holds a BSM degree from Tulane University's Freeman School of Business where he was the recipient of Birkenroad Award, the school's top award for academic excellence. Mark has been awarded the CPM* designation through the Institute of Real Estate Management, serves on the board of directors of both the National Apartment Association and the National Multi Housing Council, and is past president of Tennessee Apartment Association. Locally, Mark serves as treasurer/executive board member for Temple Israel and serves on the board of directors of The New Memphis Institute and the Jewish Foundation of Memphis.


John Randles, CFO

Industry Tenure – 29 years
Joined Fogelman Team - 1987

As Chief Financial Officer, John Randles is responsible for Fogelman Management Group's corporate accounting, cash management and treasury services, as well as the administration of the Fogelman associate benefit plans. John also oversees the placement and ongoing servicing of the company's various property and liability insurance programs. John began his career with Fogelman Properties in 1987 as vice president and corporate controller. Prior to joining the company, he spent ten years with Arthur Anderson. John earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, with a major in Accounting. He has held CPA licenses in the states of Nebraska, Iowa, Texas, and Tennessee.


Melissa Smith, Chief Administrative Officer

Industry Tenure – 24 years

Melissa Smith is Chief Administrative Officer for Fogelman Management Group. In this role, Melissa is responsible for leading the Fogelman team in the areas of accounting, human resources, real estate services, training, marketing, systems coordination, and information technology. During her tenure in the multifamily industry, Melissa has been personally involved in all aspects of property management, starting her career working onsite and then transitioning into key corporate leadership positions. Melissa earned her BS degree in Business and Economics from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, VA. She is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and has been a columnist for several industry publications.


Justin Marshall, Chief Operating Officer

Industry Tenure – 11 years

Justin Marshall serves as Chief Operating Officer for Fogelman Management Group. In this role, Justin has overall corporate-level leadership responsibilities for FMG's property operations and regional operating teams. A veteran of the multifamily industry, Justin has been actively involved in development, acquisitions, and property management. Justin is a 1996 graduate of the University of Georgia and earned his MBA in Real Estate and Finance from Emory University. He also holds a CPA license in the state of Georgia. Justin currently serves on the board of directors for the Atlanta and Georgia Apartment Associations.


Kevin Jackson, Senior VP - Financial Services

Industry Tenure – 26 Years

As Senior Vice President of Financial Services, Kevin Jackson is responsible for Fogelman Management Group's asset management and property financing activities. In addition, Kevin is involved in all areas of property acquisitions and dispositions including underwriting, coordination of third party professionals, and oversight of the closing process. Kevin also coordinates real estate tax appeals for Fogelman Management and several of its clients. Kevin joined the Fogelman team in 1990, after serving in the audit department of Arthur Anderson and Co. for five years. He holds a BA degree in Accounting from the University of Mississippi and is a certified public accountant.


Debi Wherry, Senior VP - Property Management

Industry Tenure – 25 Years
Joined Fogelman Team - 2003

As Senior Vice President- Property Management, Debi is responsible for overseeing property operations and client relations for approximately 50% of FMG's management portfolio. Debi's portfolio includes properties located in Tennessee, Arkansas, Colorado, Texas, Kansas, Missouri, Mississippi, and Alabama. Debi is supported in her position by four regional vice presidents located throughout her geographical region. Debi is actively involved in the leadership of the Apartment Association of Greater Memphis, most recently serving as president. In addition, she is presently a candidate for CPM designation through the Institute of Real Estate Management.


David Nischwitz, Senior VP - Property Redevelopment

Industry Tenure – 20 Years

David is responsible for identifying and implementing income and value enhancing capital improvement programs for the Fogelman portfolio. These programs include interior unit upgrades, enhancements to clubhouse/fitness centers, landscaping/curb appeal, pool areas, signage and other community amenities. David also oversees the company's landscape maintenance programs. Prior to joining the Fogelman team in 2012, David was senior vice president of Mid-America Apartment Communities. He graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in Landscape Architecture and earned his MBA degree from the University of Memphis. A licensed landscape architect, David is a member of American Society of Landscape Architects, ULI-Memphis, and is a board member of the Apartment Association of Greater Memphis.


Don Foster, Director of Acquisitions

Don Foster is Director of Acquisitions for Fogelman Management Group. In this role, Don serves as the company's point person for identifying, pursuing, and underwriting multifamily acquisition opportunities. During his career, Don has completed over $2 billion in multifamily acquisition and disposition assignments throughout the Southeast and Southwest. Prior to joining the Fogelman team in 2011, Don held acquisition/disposition positions at United Dominion Realty Trust, Archon, and Harbor Group International. Don earned his BS degree in Business Administration from East Carolina University.


Rob Long, VP - Accounting Services

Industry Tenure – 19 Years

As Vice President/Controller of FMG's accounting services department, Rob is responsible for overseeing all of the company's day-to-day property accounting functions. In this role, Rob serves as the key liaison between the FMG accounting services department and our clients as it relates to property accounting processes and reporting. Prior to joining FMG in 2000, Rob served in a variety of accounting positions with Insignia Financial Group, including multifamily property accounting, corporate accounting, and as controller for the general partner entities of Insignia's real estate partnerships. Rob holds a BBA degree in Accounting from the University of Memphis and is a certified public accountant.


John Barger, VP - Real Estate Services

As Vice President - Real Estate Services, John oversees and supports all of the managed communities' ancillary income and expense reduction programs. These areas include utility management/conservation, national contracts, bulk purchasing, and liability management. In addition, John serves as the point person in coordinating the company's property due diligence activities relating to new property takeovers. John also directs FMG CARES, Fogelman Management Group's company-wide charity program. John earned his BBA and MS in Accounting from The University of Memphis. John has served as president of both the Tennessee Apartment Association and the Apartment Association of Greater Memphis. In addition, John was voted as one of the city's "Top 40 Under 40" business executives by the Memphis Business Journal.


Pattie Woods, VP - Training and Development

Industry Tenure – 31 Years

As Vice President of Training & Development, Pattie is responsible for designing, implementing and monitoring training programs for all site level associates. She also monitors the associate shopping program, Fogelman Management Group's mentor programs, and the online learning center. Pattie works closely with the director of marketing and leads the management development department to provide superior support to our leasing, marketing, and management teams. Pattie is an active member of the National Apartment Association, currently serving as a NAAEI faculty member and as a member of the education committee. She served as the inaugural president of the Apartment Association of Greater Memphis in 2006 and is also a past president of the Tennessee Apartment Association. Pattie holds RAM, CAM and CAPS designations and is a frequent speaker for national industry events.


Tammy Yeargan, Director of Marketing

Industry Tenure – 20 Years
Joined Fogelman Team - 2007

As Director of Marketing, Tammy is responsible for overseeing the digital and traditional marketing strategies of Fogelman Management Group and its managed communities. Tammy educates the Fogelman site teams on the changing renter preferences and works closely with the company's operations teams to maximize each property's digital presence. Tammy also is responsible for the marketing, branding and leasing start-up of the company's new construction properties. Prior to joining the Fogelman team in 2007, Tammy served as regional training manager for Gables Residential in Dallas, Texas. Tammy is a board member of the Apartment Association of Greater Memphis, presently serving as president-elect.
